Safaricom Foundation has empowered ten groups in the Rift region with items worth Kshs. 1.5 million through its Ndoto Zetu initiative. Ndoto Zetu, which is part of the foundation’s philanthropic partnerships across the country, aims at supporting Kenyans who are keen on having an impact in their communities through social investments. “We are glad to be able to equip Kenyans with items that will help start and bring back businesses to life through our community social investment, Ndoto Zetu,” said Joseph Ogutu, Chairman, Safaricom Foundation.
Some of the groups that received tents and chairs include: Perumali, Mtaa Umoja and Cheplosgei in Uasin Gishu County, Kimolwa, and Tmso Legetyo in Nandi County, Chebara Dam conservation Group and Zsingwili in Elgeyo Marakwet, Uongozi, Chanuka and Tunuane in Trans-Nzoia County.
Earlier in the month, the Foundation, through the Ndoto Zetu initiative donated various medical equipment to five health facilities in Bomet, Trans-Nzoia and Kericho counties.Through this initiative, Safaricom Foundation requests individual Kenyans to share their dreams and aspirations that will have a positive impact on their communities. During the first phase of the initiative last year, the foundation implemented over three hundred projects across forty counties at Kshs. 30 million, reaching more than 50,000 people.
