ICT CS Introduces New KBC MD to employees

Veteran journalist Naim Bilal who was appointed the Managing Director of the State-owned Kenya Broadcasting cooperation (KBC) last month, was introduced to  to employees today by Information, Communications and Technology Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru.

Speaking at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation head office during the meeting, Joe Mucheru said he wants to leave a legacy by transforming KBC.

Mucheru said President Uhuru Kenyatta has a commitment to make KBC succeed adding that it is his duty to ensure the President’s desire is fully implemented.

The new Managing Director expressed his gratitude to the CS and board of directors for the appointment but was clear to urge the employees to support him in carrying out his mandate.

“I maybe the captain but I can’t do it alone. I look forward to working with you, I need your support as well as your professional input.” He said.

Bilal said he wants KBC to be a major yet trusted authority in news as well as production just like other public broadcasters world wide.

The CS urged the new MD, to work with the industry and guarantee improved and efficient distribution of TV content that can be received across the country.

Mucheru said the Government will look into some of the concerns raised by employees among them the failure by the Corporation to remit deduction towards their pension as well as issues of favoritism during recruitment.
