Part of Lagos _based banking multinational UBA group, UBA Kenya recently launched an interactive chat banker that enables customers to make use of their social media platform, to carry out bank services like , open an UBA Bank account for the Facebook user, request for mini statement , top up airtime ,transfer money ,log and track for complaints.
Speaking at the launch in Nairobi on Wednesday, UBA East and Southern Africa Executive director Emeke Iweriebor said that, “The bank wants to bring banking services to apps where the consumer spends most of the time.”
He continued to say that, “We realised that the consumer spends 80% of their time online in three apps, Facebook, WhatsApp and YouTube and decided to follow them where they are.”
