Colonel (Rtd.) Cyrus Odhiambo Oguna has been appointed as the government spokesman with immediate effect. According to a press release by Mr. Joe Mucheru, CS, Ministry of Information, communications and Technology, in line with directions from the executive office of the President through the head of public service, the office of the government spokesman shall be domiciled at his ministry.
Colonel (Rtd.) Oguna is a career military officer. He has held various positions relating to management of personnel, operations, training and communications within the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the government. He was in charge of KDF’s public affairs office as well as the spokesman at the onset of Operation Linda Nchi. He held that position from 2011- 2013. He holds a masters of arts degree from the University of Nairobi.
