NCBA Bank has expanded its reach with the opening of a new branch in Kerugoya town, Kirinyaga County. Located at the Oasis Building, the branch is set to provide residents and businesses with comprehensive banking services, ranging from savings and current accounts to digital banking, asset financing, and advisory services.
The branch was officially inaugurated by H.E. Governor Anne Waiguru in a ceremony attended by NCBA Group Chairman Mr. James Ndegwa, senior bank executives, and local leaders. The launch reflects NCBA’s ongoing commitment to making financial services accessible across Kenya.
During the launch, Mr. Ndegwa emphasized the bank’s dedication to supporting the region’s economic growth. He highlighted that the Kerugoya branch is the fifth NCBA branch to open this year, bringing the total number of branches nationwide to 97, spread across 29 counties.
“This is a new beginning, not only for NCBA but for the people of Kirinyaga County. With agriculture as the backbone of this region—engaging 87% of the population and contributing 72% of household incomes—NCBA is committed to ensuring the continued growth and development of this area,” said Mr. Ndegwa.
The Kerugoya branch will cater to various customer needs, offering financial products such as personal and business loans, investment solutions, and asset financing. Customers can also access NCBA’s digital banking platforms, enabling them to manage their finances conveniently from anywhere.
Governor Waiguru lauded NCBA’s strategic move, emphasizing its potential to transform the region’s financial landscape. “This branch marks a significant step toward financial freedom for business operators, residents, and schools in Kerugoya. I urge all residents to utilize these financial services to drive economic growth in our county,” she said.
With a population of nearly one million people, Kirinyaga County is a hub for agriculture and commerce. The new NCBA branch is expected to play a vital role in supporting these activities by offering tailored financial solutions and enhanced transaction convenience through services like NCBA Till, PDQ machines, and online banking.
As part of its sustainability initiative, NCBA planted trees at Jivanjee Park and donated 60 additional trees to the Kirinyaga County Government. This aligns with the bank’s “Change the Story” campaign, which aims to plant 10 million trees by 2030 in partnership with private and public entities.
With a team of nine dedicated staff members, the Kerugoya branch is equipped with modern facilities designed to ensure customer privacy and comfort. Employees are well-trained to deliver efficient, personalized service to address diverse customer needs.
By expanding to Kerugoya, NCBA reaffirms its dedication to fostering regional development, financial inclusion, and economic resilience. The new branch is a testament to the bank’s commitment to empowering communities and creating pathways to prosperity for individuals and businesses alike.
