Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) has announced its newly elected Board of Directors for 2019 through 2021. Pheodor Mundia Njoroge, the strategic business manager to the managing director at Unilever East Africa, was re-elected as Chairman at the society’s Annual General Meeting held recently.
Carolyne Kendi who is head of brand, marketing & communication at Safaricom, Joseph Karamoja who is the vice president and head of marketing, PR and communications at SBM Bank, and Charles Kariuki who is the managing director at AAR Healthcare were also elected to the board among other members.
Handing over the mantle, society’s outgoing chairperson Maggie Ireri who is also a director at TIFA Research said: “Pheodor has a clear passion for the marketing profession and he strongly believes that marketing plays a crucial role in the growth of Kenyan business.”
Accepting the new role, Mr. Njoroge said his immediate focus would be to execute MSK’s strategy as outlined by the board and to ensure the society is effectively positioned for continued success.
“My vision is to strengthen the voice of the marketers within the country on issues that matter to us and the brands we drive,” Mr. Njoroge said.
The immediate task for the new board is to improve the profile of the society, in addition to growing its membership and revenue projections in the coming years.
MSK is the national umbrella body for all marketers in Kenya whose key mandate is to empower and regulate the marketing industry by creating policy that governs the marketing Industry, education and training of professionals, corporate organisations and entrepreneurs.
