FRIDAH WANJIRU MIANO : FRUITS OF JOINING MENTOR SACCO WHILE YOUNG
Fridah Miano was employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in 1997. Determined to achieve financial success, she joined Mentor Sacco after working for only three months. She has been a member of the tier one Sacco since then. Currently, Fridah is teaching at Enyorio Comprehensive School in Kajiado central, where she is the deputy head teacher. She was transferred to the school in 2019.

Fridah has walked a very successful journey with Mentor Sacco over the years. To start with, she has managed to purchase four pieces of land and to educate her children with the financial support of the Sacco. “My first born child is currently pursuing university education, the second born will join university next year while the born is a student at Kahuhia Girls High school in Murang’a county,” she proudly says.
The ambitious teacher advises young professionals and entrepreneurs to join Mentor Sacco so as to attain their financial goals. “ Having joined Mentor at a young age, I have been able to save and access credit from the Sacco, hence improving my socio-economic status,” she ends.
DORCAS NAIMUTIE OSOI: I AM PROUD TO BE A MEMBER OF MENTOR SACCO
Dorcas Naimutie Osoi is a teacher by profession. “I joined Mentor Sacco immediately after graduating from college,” she says adding that at that time, it was known as Murang’a Teachers Sacco. Using loans from the Sacco, she has put up a permanent house for her family, besides educating her children. The Sacco also financed her university education.
Dorcas thanked the Sacco’s management for organizing an education, training and information day at Kajiado township secondary school. “ We were taken through the Sacco’s product offering and I will therefore be able to make well informed decisions when in need of a loan or higher returns on my savings,” she says. Currently, she is enjoying dividends every year from her share capital and interest from her ordinary savings. “I am a proud member of Mentor Sacco because through its support, I have achieved many financial goals,” she adds.
EMILY TIPO NAENI : MENTOR SACCO HAS TRANSFORMED MY LIVE
Emily Tipo Naeni teaches at Oloosuyain Comprehensive School. She joined Mentor Sacco in 2005. Eager to grow professionally, Emily has been financed by Mentor Sacco to pursue a bachelor of education degree at the Prebyterian University of East Africa. Additionally, the Sacco has financed the education of her children, construction of a modern family house and establishment of her agribusiness project ( dairy and poultry farming).
By and large, Emily’s live has been transformed by Mentor Sacco and she is therefore planning to increase her level of savings as she endeavours to achieve financial success.
JOHN GAKINYA : UNITY IS STRENGTH
John Gakinya, a teacher by profession, joined Mentor Sacco ten years ago. One of his major achievements as a member of the Sacco has been graduating with a bachelor of education degree. Additionally, he has invested in real estate besides educating his younger siblings. “ I am planning to continue saving with the Sacco so that I can invest in more real estate projects and attain financial freedom before retiring from the teaching profession,” he says. “ I wouldn’t like to struggle during my retirement,” he adds.
Gakinya advises his colleagues to join Mentor Sacco because of its wide array of innovative products . His favourite loan product is jijenge because of its long tenure and flexible payment. “When members pool their resources through the co-operative model, they are able to attain their goals with ease,” he observes.
ERICK GITONGA : MENTOR SACCO HAS LESSENED MY FINANCIAL BURDEN
Erick Gitonga teaches at Nenkashe primary school in Kajiado central. He joined Mentor Sacco towards the end of 2023. “ I noticed that my friends – who had joined the Sacco before me – were benefiting a lot from its savings and loan products and I therefore decided to follow their steps,” he says. Since becoming a member, the Sacco has bought off a loan he had with a commercial bank hence lessening his financial burden.
He is planning to save a lot with the Sacco in order to educate his children and invest in real estate and agribusiness. “ I own a commercial plot and I am planning to develop it once I get a loan from Mentor Sacco,” he says. He also applauds the Sacco’s staff members because of engaging members in a friendly way. “ The staff members make us feel appreciated as members because they pay close attention to all our enquiries,” he adds.
