The job market in the country has become very competitive. To overcome this challenge, many graduates from tertiary institutions and universities are opting for entrepreneurship. One way of cutting down on overheads as an entrepreneur is to work from your home.

As a woman, below are some jobs you can engage in while in your house.

1. Blogging

Blogging is one of the jobs that women can comfortably do at the comfort of their houses.  Starting a blog is easy if you have internet connection .After sometime, you get a good number of people reading your articles and this can generate you some income through advertising.  It might take a while but patience pays. In order to attract many readers, update your blog regularly with fresh content.

2. Affiliate marketing

Do you know what affiliate marketing is?  It can be an ideal way of making money. This entails achieving a greater market penetration through websites targeting a specific group of internet users. It is simple because if you just recommend different products or places to friends, you get paid for it!  Isn’t that quite awesome?  

3.Freelance writing                                                                                                                                           Do you love writing? You can make a lot of money as a freelance writer. In an interview, a freelance writer, Holly Johnson says that she   makes over $200,000 a year. I didn’t even know that was possible!

Holly says that she finds it hard NOT to earn $40,000-$50,000 yearly on full-time writing.

 Freelance jobs can be performed at home by women even as they perform other tasks.  Your skill set may be one of the following:

5. Transcribing

This is a great job based on its flexibility and pay. Transcriptionists listen to audio files and record (type) what they hear.  Isn’t that an easy way to make money?  Search for such an opportunity and you can earn some income.

 6. Photography

If you’re the family photographer and love taking pictures, this can earn you some money. It is a hobby that can pay off significantly if one is passionate.

To get started, take pictures of many events and unique occurrences. Take photoshop classes in order to  polish off your photos and add quality finishes.

Post your best work on social media and start your online portfolio.

You can also:

• Contact your local real estate agents and offer your services to take professional pictures of their new listings;
• License your photos through various stock photography sites;
• Offer your services for free to friends and family members who want to take holidays, their newborns  and weddings among other activities . If you do a good job, they can become your customers.
