Kenya Breweries Limited ushered in a new brand of its premium beer Tusker Malt Lager, in celebration of its 23rd anniversary of delivering consistent quality to consumers in the Kenyan market.
In the process of renewing Tusker commitment to its consumers, the iconic 300ml green bottle will be embossed with the name into all sides at a retail price of KES 160.
The Kenya Breweries Managing Director, Jane Kariuki said that the year has been exciting and fulfilling to the company ensuring that beer business is delivered through improved innovation, exploitation of ideas, launch and re-launch of new and existing products leading to a strong perfomance with a 3% volume growth which contributed to the company’s net revenue of 12% to KES 82.2 million as suggested in the 2019 annual report.
In addition, Ms. Ann Joy Muhoro, Head of beer at the EABL, mentioned that the brand has undergone an optimum growing process to ensure the company delivers consistent quality and slow brewed lager to give a full flavor to its consumers.
With the re-launch of the brand, Tusker Malt Lager seeks to deliver growth in 2020 as it remains top in the premium beer category where local and foreign brands competition are intensified in the premium and super premium segments. Also as promised by Ms. Kariuki the company will ensure consistency in quality of Tusker Malt served to every consumer in Kenya.
Ultimately, the new Tusker Malt pack will be the second innovation addition to the Tusker Trademark after the launch of Tusker Premium Ale in March which brings a total of Tusker to 5virants, namely Tusker Malt, Tusker Lager, Tusker Cider and Tusker Lite. The brand is addressing consumer trends by targeting Kenya’s middle class revelers whose tastes are trending toward premium beer.
