The three winners were picked from a draw of over 40,000 NCBA Visa cardholders who qualified for the campaign
NCBA Bank Kenya in partnership with Visa, the official payments partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, is sending Edwin Muriithi, Barbara Chesire, Pius Ngugi as well as their companions for a once-in-a-lifetime experience to support Team Kenya during the forthcoming global event.
Barbara, Edwin and Pius
The three qualified for the draw and won by transacting Kshs. 3,000 and above using their NCBA Visa cards at different points of sale. Barbara Chesire, co-founder and managing director of AB Entheos , is a business and personal banker with NCBA. She had originally planned a trip to Naivasha with her friend Nicole. When she got the call that she had won, the plans quickly changed into an international girls’ trip.
Hailing from the city of champions, Eldoret, Barbara is very excited about the opportunity to support the athletes who will be representing Kenya in the Paris Olympics. “I have never won anything in a competition before. This is truly exciting, as going to Paris was on my bucket list; NCBA and Visa have made it happen sooner than expected. I have been banking with NCBA for more than ten years, and for this, I am incredibly grateful. I never thought I would get to witness a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience that is the Olympic Games,” said Barabara.
The second winner, Edwin Muriithi, is an interior designer and architect by profession. When he received the call that he had won, he initially thought it was a hoax. But after Mary, his wife, confirmed the legitimacy of the call, the couple was over the moon. Edwin, an avid sports lover and former rugby player, was especially thrilled to tick this experience off his bucket list. The experience has also delighted Edwins’s wife since she will now travel out of the country for the first time. She recently got a passport.
Pius Ngugi, the third winner, is a software engineer from Meru who had never considered travelling to France. With his busy work life, he is excited to experience Paris for the first time with his wife and hopes that the much-needed break will strengthen their bond. His kids have been helping him with a French 101 class to prepare for the trip. Unfortunately, they won’t accompany him to France.
