Mizizi Musiq is a social good and talent development unit that fosters
sustainable growth for local artists.
The real estate developer is tapping into a pool of talented gospel
music artists with good content but fails to make it in the marketplace.
Target artists will be supported under Mizizi Musiq to record their
songs, link up with professional music advisers, promoters and mentors
who will guide their musical journey to success.
“There are lots of good gospel music talent and content out there but
most artists lack individual strategies and an elaborate growth plan and
discipline to take their craft to the next level. This is a gap that we
are coming to fill up,” said Mizizi Africa Homes Operations and
Finance Director, George Mburu.
George Mburu whose stage name is Top G and gospel artist Timothy Muthuri
(Lil Tim) are the founders and lead artists of the unit.
The company said it will push for development and marketing of original
content to tap into this niche market that is often overlooked but has a
potentially bigger fan base.
It will also facilitate access to continuous training on copyright
issues that protects artists and their works.
“Our vision is to package the next wave of artists with content good
enough to be exported to the global marketplace,” said Mburu.
Mizizi musiq has been working with 50 artists under a pilot programme
and targets to increase the numbers to 1,000 by year end.
